Sports Therapy

Sports Therapy is incredibly important for myself as a fitness instructor as my muscles are constantly being fatigued with the classes that I teach. Toxins build up in these muscles and massage is a great way of helping to alleviate this. This type of therapy will often encompass the use of a deep massage for the body and as such can be used for rehabilitation of injury irrespective of whether you are a sports person or not.

What is Sports and Fitness Therapy?

1. Assessment and treatment of joint and muscle pain, using sports massage, stretching, rehabilitation exercises and psychological support.

2. Posture and movement analysis emphasising on muscle range and technique.

3. Massage is one of the earliest forms of physical therapy.

4. In all types of massage there are specific aims and applied skilfully is the most effective therapy physically, mentally and emotionally.

5. Massage is of benefit to anybody, not just people who are particularly active.

I have a great sport and fitness therapist who is based in Swindon and she is fantastic. Many of the local fitness instructors and long distance runners are clients of Julie's so do check her out if you live in the Wiltshire area!
